Introducing Inside SPHERE+ Our Digital Newsletter

We are pleased to share the first issue of Inside SPHERE+, the project newsletter for SPHERE+ Cooperation Against LGBTIQ+ Hate Speech in Political and Public Spheres.

Inside SPHERE+ is how we will keep you informed about the project's work, progress, and people throughout our two-year programme. We will publish four issues in total, two in year one and two in year two, charting the project from launch through to completion in March 2027. Each issue will bring you updates on our research, our awareness campaign, our capacity-building activities, and the events and partnerships that are carrying the project's mission forward across six European countries.

This first issue covers a lot of ground. We hear from project coordinator Isuf Halimi on what it means to have SPHERE+ funded in one of the most competitive CERV calls to date. We look back at our September 2025 kickoff meeting in Brussels, where the full consortium came together for the first time. We introduce the SPHERE+ evidence base (our work package 2) we are building across Belgium, Bulgaria, Denmark, France, Hungary, and Ireland, and share the emerging findings from our survey of 154 politicians and public officials and over 70 civil society organisations. And we introduce the SPHERE+ Awareness Raising Campaign, which launched on LinkedIn this week with its first posts examining how public language shapes the safety, dignity, and participation of LGBTIQ+ people across Europe.

Read the full issue below, and follow SPHERE+ on LinkedIn and Instagram to stay connected with the project as it develops.
