The second issue of Inside SPHERE+ is now available, and it marks a significant moment for the project. One year on from our launch in June 2025, SPHERE+ is in full delivery with a published evidence base, a growing public awareness campaign, and a capacity-building programme now taking shape across six European countries.
This issue brings together everything that has happened since January 2026. We share the publication of the SPHERE+ Evidence Base Report which draws on surveys of 154 politicians and public officials and engagement with over 70 civil society organisations to present the most comprehensive picture yet of anti-LGBTIQ+ hate speech in European political and public life. We look at three new awareness campaign posts examining political language from France, Bulgaria, and across Europe more broadly, and what they reveal about the consistent patterns of harmful rhetoric that SPHERE+ is working to address.
We also take you inside our second partner meeting in Brussels in June 2026, hosted by VolontEurope, and share highlights from the SPHERE+ Out & About photo gallery, from the ILGA-Europe 30th Anniversary Gala to political engagement work by our Irish partners at RLP and Isuf Halimi's representation of the project at the Council of Europe. And we introduce the capacity-building phase (our work package 3) that will define year two, including the CSO training curriculum led by LGBTI Deystvie, the microlearning bulletin series led by Momentum, and the live training sessions led by EUEI.
Two more issues of Inside SPHERE+ will follow in year two of the project. Download Issue 2 using the link below and follow us on LinkedIn and Instagram #SPHEREplus.
